Conky on the right and inspiration on the left...
Quick save. Sure, you like the boots.
"I am King Under The Mountain!"
Running Mint 13 w/Mate desktop.
Thought I would show my NEXT desktop. However this is not GNU/Linux. This is GNU/MACH (Debian HURD).
Nice desktop, but would Debian Hurd be GNU/Hurd rather than GNU/Mach?
Nice Mate-desktop @atanere !
The OS currently in development is called Debian GNU/Hurd. GNU-Mach is something called a micro-kernel, whatever that is. Without doing any research, my guess is GNU-Mach is the kernel used by the Debian GNU/Hurd OS.
Hurd is a kernel as well as Mach and Linux.
The difference between HURD and MACH is really weird...
EDIT Yes it should be GNU/HURD not GNU/MACH
I love the GNU explanations:
Hurd stands for Hird of Unix-Replacing Daemons. And, then, Hird stands for Hurd of Interfaces Representing Depth.
Nice explanation @ryanvade I've heard of Hurd and thats about where my knowledge of that kernel/system ends. Let us know how you like it, i'd be interested to try it out some day when I have more time.
Also glad GNU is keeping with its excellent naming policy
An experiment with a dark theme. I added the Debian name to a backdrop that matches the dark theme to pay homage to Debian. I decided to post the images, since these dark experiments are short-lived. (They drive me crazy quickly.)
moved to Ubuntu...13.10
I do not see your pictures.

FYI: I can see his pictures just fine.
Oddly I can't see @Cyber-Berserker pictures either, but I can save them to disk and view them on my PC I can follow the URL and view them too...
Maybe an issue with the forums?
Okay, I also see them if I open them in a new tab. Odd......
The GNU Mach microkernel is part of GNU Hurd. Hurd is not exactly a kernel but a set of daemons running on top of GNU Mach.
Odd indeed. I can see them in the post and get full size by clicking on them. I agree with MickeyD, that it may be a problem with the board.
FYI I checked this earlier today on three systems and on one system I only saw the image files, no pictures. I right clicked and reloaded page 3 and the images appeared as normal. --Strange
PS I was suprised to see the Debian logo verses a fine pair of boots...
Now I can not see see the images in the post, but when I right click them, I do see them full screen. Nice desk top, Cyber-Berserker. Guess I had best get moving in that department, I still have a "stock" desktop but then again, it does help announce that it ain't Windows. ( I mean, really, how can one miss the Mint 16 logo?)
