I just installed Chrubuntu on my new Acer Chromebook. I followed a tutorial on YouTube. It went OK except the user interface did not come up. That was ok because I just want to learn the command line.
However, it asked me for a login and password which it had not asked me to set before. I hunted around and found the defaults are user and user. Fine except that this user has no real permissions.
Can anyone tell me how to get admin rights without starting again?
    Thanks

And about the no interface problem, type "startx" without the quotes and press enter. This is how you launch the interface from the command line.
