linux certification for test engineer

    Hello everyone,

    Im a test engineer and would like to know if there is any linux certification for testers. Or if anybody could help me know what knowledge of Linux should a tester have.

    That really depends on what you mean by testing. Testing can take quite a few different forms. Can you be more specific as to what testing means to you in this instance?

    I have worked on testing web applications so far. Tested their functionality, db integration, performance, application server monitoring, etc.

    Most of the Linux certs I have seen are geared to the server administrator. That being said you could still take one to understand more of Linux under the hood.

    You may want to focus on the chosen web server/application that you are dealing with. Look into tuning the application, web server, and networking. Learn your DB and what tuning can be applied to it as well. Those are all hugely beneficial.
