My father passed away :( and I got his old laptop. It has linux mint on it and I'd like to play a game called minecraft. I'm wondering if I can install Wine or Windows without the password?? You know, the Linux Mint password. Because I have no idea what it is. I'm stuck. Any help appreciated.

There are some websites which will not help with passwords, it is against their rules --- the computer could be stolen property. There are some websites which will help.

You could find an answer quite simply by Googling: linux mint reset password

    Look here: http://blog.zwiegnet.com/linux-server/reset-root-password-linux-mint/

DO NOT try to install a Windows version of Minecraft. Windows is not Linux and Linux is not Windows. Linux is Linux. Get a Linux version of Minecraft. https://minecraft.net/download

Ok thanks a lot! I'm sorry I should have posted what my solution was. I downloaded the minecraft.jar instead of the .exe. Then all I had to do was change the permissions! Thanks again.
