    Hello to everybody.

Could someone help me out. I would like to host a video chat for no more than 10 people (can be more but I just need 10 at the same time ) if not 10 than I need to be able to just talk one on one so just 2 people. This would be only for personal use, was using Skype but the connection breaks and the video quality is poor. Mainly need it to talk to my family abroad.
I figured I could create a chat room for us on my server where we would have video.

    System:
    Ubuntu 12.04
    LAMP

    Dell Inspiron 5537

For the creation of my website which is still work in progress I used Joomla 2.5 but the extensions there are not what I am looking for that offer video chat.

Thank you all for your time.

Hmm ok Google Hangout is good but I would really like to host video chat over my own server on my own website at least for like 2 people nothing big.

I did follow the link ryavade you provided but that is not a solved post just a lot of discussion in any case I did find it informative.

Do you have any other suggestions?

Yes - you can use WebSockets of HTML5 for transfer video stream (that you create from camera's data - from C# (as server console - you must owning this server) for example...) - but I have to repeat - it cannot be better than Skype...

I have one idea that can be better - what about virtual access into server? You'll execute program on server that will be accepting only input - video stream input - and this program immediately play this stream on server. (It can be better, when you'll owning the entire server to yourself.) You'll just watch the server instead of all participants. (Only one data transmission...)
