    I keep getting this when i click on the check for updates. I am sorry if i have put this in the wrong place. right now i am running the Gnome side of Ubuntu 11.10 and in the bottom right side i have an icon that keeps telling me i have updates but there seams to be none or i get this message any one have any ideas ?? big time noob by the way. thanks for any help i can get.

    That error is basicly telling you that it can't find the files it needs..

    By clicking on the links, I can not find the files either :)

    Can you list out your sources list?

    Ok - open up your update manager... then click on 'settings'..

    do you see any PPAs listed there?

    It seems to me that your sources are all wrong - I'm no expert so my way of fixing that would be to reinstall Ubuntu, but I'm sure there's an easier way that involves editing your list of sources.

    Sounds like you have a bad internet connection. I have seen that kind of error when my internet connection goes up and down like a yo-yo.

    That probably means that the URL of the sources is down or has been deleted. That is what that error would mean usually anyway.
