I am facing an issue on x86_64 bit machine which is occasional , while executing a "jump on equal" instruction kernel is throwing
emerg log saying "general protection fault"

below is the instruction which is executed when issue happened:
    je 0x1c42

some "mov" operation is done at "0x1c42" as like below
    mov %r13,%rsi
    where r13 is on stack

what exactly this signifies ? "protection fault" when jumping to an address means what ?
any better way to debug this issue for exact cause ?
could anyone help in this ?
