Need user recommendations for two internal DVD writers- one IDE/EIDE, and other one SATA. Both must be on the 'Dangerous Brothers' list:

...and both must 'just work' with Linux (i.e. no kernel manips or excessive tinkering).

Honestly, I don't know of a DVD burner that DOESN’T work with Linux.

I've checked every Plextor model (my first choice) on the list, and none look to 'just work'. Most don't work at all, and a few can be made to work with apparently lotsa effort. It could take a year to research each and every listing. I'm hoping someone here has an EIDE or SATA burner that is on the list, and Linux friendly....otherwise I may have to give up on having an 'all-regions' optical drive.
