    Hey lads

I dual boot my machine with linux - can't remember the version - and windows 7. I know this might be a dumb question but can I run a defragment on windows or would that affect linux - I'd figure since they use their own partition on the hard drive that it wouldn't but I would like to make sure before I do it.

    Thanks guys

As you said, you have a duel boot system then if you use de-fragmentation on window 7 that will definitely not impact your Linux Partitions.

You can use your Windows like you normally would, including all maintenance procedures. Don't worry about it. :)
