Had a few cds knocking about and thought about converting them to play in my android phone. Worked beautifully without converting to mp3. Fedoras rhythmbox copies music to its library in .ogg format and this compatible with android devices. Awesome!

Handy script for ripping - burnCDDA - found in trying a Slackware-based distro and visiting their forum.

    EDIT:
    PHP:
    apt-get install xcfa
in Debian works very well as a ripper, too.

Came in to recommend rhythmbox's built-in ripper only to find that the TC had done it himself. Nice work!

I'm certain that there're better rippers available, especially for audiophiles, but I've always found rhythmbox's ripper to work well enough for my needs.
