    Hi

I have a LAN with computers that have Windows 7 SP1 or Lubuntu 13.10. On the computers with Lubuntu, how do I assign a name to an IP address so that it can even use their names on any Linux program that requests access to a network resource?

    Thanks

    Bye

Easy way is to add a line in the hosts file for the systems you are making the reference from.

Hosts is also an excellent way to block advertising sites, btw.
