    Debian wheezy user looking for some help getting my amd drivers to work correctly.

    Downloaded the latest driver from amd (13.4) and did an automatic install of them. Everything seemed fine but when I try to run amdcccle or amdconfig I get the following:

    Code:
    amdcccle: error while loading shared libraries: libGL.so.1: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS32
    So I completely removed/purged amd drivers, xorg.conf & fglrx. Then tried to install with a distro specific package. Doing so gives me the following:

    Code:
    root@D3B1AN:/home/ac1d/Downloads# sh amd-driver-installer-catalyst-13-4-x86.x86_64.run --buildpkg Debian/stable
    Created directory fglrx-install.Tw5CX0
    Verifying archive integrity... All good.

    Why did you download from AMD and not use the Repository?

    What exactly is the MODEL of your video card?

    The first problem may be because you used the wrong installer architecture or because the installer is not multi-arch aware. What arch are you actually running?
    Code:
    $ uname -r
    The second problem is that you're trying to build a package from the installer - and that has never worked...

    You need to ensure that it's cleaned up before proceeding further:
    Code:
    # sh /usr/share/ati/amd-uninstall.sh
    or
    Code:
    # sh amd-driver-installer-catalyst-13-4-x86.x86_64.run --uninstall
    Next you want to identify your GPU
    Code:
    $ lspci | grep -i vga
    And then go here and read up on how to install the driver correctly:
    https://wiki.debian.org/ATIProprietary

    //edit: For the benefit of other posters, it would appear that the OP resolved his problem elsewhere: https://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/debian-26/amd-driver-installation-help-4175479305/

    And also posted the same problem at the Debian forums: http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=107473
