What version of Ubuntu are you using?

    Have you run
    lately? https://help.ubuntu.com/community/AptGet/Howto

You can reset your Router to factory default. Normally by pressing the button on the back for a while. Google your Router, Make and Model to find out how to access it. Then reset the password

Can you connect to the Router by cable and try that again? What happens?
