If the board is to have advertising, could we please have some variety? Seeing the same advertisements every day, usually displayed twice or thrice on the same page:eek: gets a little annoying after a while. Such as
I only need to see it once to get the message.

You need to get more companies interested in advertising on this site. Maybe @Rob has an idea.

There are two types of advertisements on here..
    1. buysellads.com (only tech companies right now.. we need to approve any advertisers and we wouldn't approve a dating type add)
    2. Google adsense: these will bring up ads relative to your internet habits and give you ads that you will more likely click on

But yeah, we'd love to see more people sign up for advertising on the buysellads.com site! There's a link at the bottom to advertise.

    Thanks!

:D Is it just me or does that post look ironic? I am referring to "we wouldn't approve a dating type add" and the ad below it.

Although there is a little variety.:(

Yeah, the only paying advertisers currently are tech sites (VPS, hosting, etc..).. the google ads show what they think YOU want to see..

For instance, i'm seeing a helpdesk software ad currently from google..

Unfortunately, the folks at Google believe if they harvest enough browsing history it will allow them to anticipate users' desires. In their delusions of grandeur, they believe they are psychic. Yet another reason why I am happy not using Google.

I also get a lot of Asian dating advertisements. What if the Google-Psychics are trying to tell me something? Hmm...
