I'm trying to add a signature authentication scheme to the routing frames used by Hybrid Wireless Mesh Protocol in 802.11s mesh networks. In order to do this, I have to modify the mesh_hwmp.c code located in the linux source code to add the signature authentication scheme, which results in adding an extra signature field to the existing routing frame. From my understanding, this involves only adding an extra field to the packet at necessary places in the code where it is called for but I'm not sure if this task involves kernel modifications at lower levels as well. Could someone please point me in the right direction?

Hi Maximus, add the extra field. There won't be modifications at lower levels.
    All the best! ;)
