Hello,

I just wanted to say Ive had Ubuntu for a day know and I love it!
But i am having troubles. My Dad and I share one connection using a hub since we can only get one cable to our desks. But using it i have seen a major drop in bandwidth. When i plug directly into the router i get 7MB/s and i get only a couple KB/s on the hub, so I want to see if anyone knows how i can get a better connection The hub specs are.
4 port with an uplink.
Collision 100
Im running Ubuntu and my dad is running bodhi.
Thanks,
William

Did you recently start having this issue or did it start with Ubuntu? What network card is in the computer? Are all the cables tightly connected?

I didn't try it on windows because my wifi card worked with it. The cables are all attached tightly, and the Ethernet controller is Qualcomm Atheros AR8152 v2.0 Fast Ethernet and network controller is Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8188CE 802.11b/g/n WiFi Adapter (these are based on the lspci report.) I don't think it is Ubuntu because I can connect just fine on a direct connection. The hub is a Accton Cheetahub power 3004E
Sorry about the late response, I haven't checked it a while.
