Hello, i am new and eager to learn. Still have a long way to go so i subscribed :)
I still do not know what linux distro i prefer but I wil tell what i have in the house...
This is: 4 desktops, one is very old and has no more HD in it I put them in my main desktop that i use right know. Actually there are two, one HD of 25 gig and one of 30 gig . this was a desktop that i could take home from school for free, so u can imagine not very powerfull. My main desktop is a Acer aspire m3610 Intel core2 quad cpu q6600 @2.4GHz with 6gig RAM and a geforce gt 520 graphics card.(windows 7 ultimate)<---- meh
The other two desktops are also very old and standing there getting dusty and all:oops:
I will post back all the specs of all of them later.
And I have an Asus eee pc 701sd netbook (fun little thing) I removed windows xp because it was soooo slow and tried different linux distros on them, like Ubuntu 12.04, Linux mint, all working fine and Backtrack4 now currently installed. I am thinking of making a whole network of Linux distro's so i can do some fun and admin stuff with those. Problem: I am new and learning but to get the whole setup that i want i need some professional help and i thought this would be the right place to get that help. As I said I am willing to put the specs of all those computers here in a thread and see what we can make out of it together to get me started in the wondrous world of Linux. I will post on threads the things that i know or ask for further information on subjects. Hope we can have a nice journey together friends:)

Aloha and welcome to Linux.org! We appreciate all of your contributions to this forum.

For the old computers, some distros that work very well on them include AnitaOS, Puppy Linux, Xubuntu, Lubuntu, and some others.

have a good day dude I am also new here ! so guide me what i do here and how can i get the information

Welcome to this community and please don't think of the journey as I have a long way to go but rather as a fun journey of discovery at your own pace. It is like gardening or cycling for leisure you doing it to enjoy it and there is always something new to learn. Ask questions and it is our pleasure to answer them as we all grow in our knowledge which is only useful when shared.

Have a great time and again welcome and do things at a pace that suits you. Its about enjoyment.:):):):):):)

The best distros for older computers, IMHO, include Absolute (Slackware-based) and antiX (Debian-based). Put an old IDE hard drive in it and go!
Welcome!

Yeah, It is like Darren said. Make it a fun thing, like a trip down old Route 66. See ya there! And welcome!
