Hello
To any who can assist me..would be greatly appeciated.
I need some help in wanting to change my login security. Have been using the same password since inception. Am running a web server using Redhat 9.0. Is there a way I can change one password that would prevent anyone or all who has been on my server overwrite theirs? I think I suspect hackers have some control over my server. Not sure since I am seeing foreign file folders that seems to be there but not...
Please help. [email protected]

I would look at upgrading to a newer release. Especially since RH 9.0 has not been supported for quite some time. (April 30th 2004)

You would probably be best served by upgrading to something that is getting bug fixes, updates, and a more recent kernel.

That being said if the box is compromised then it is compromised. In the event that they have root access then you are not going to be able to prevent them from changing passwords. You can change your password by using passwd, but if the system is compromised then there is not much you can do.
