I found this place while browsing for information on Suricata and thought it looked like a good informative site.

I'm studying other tools like Kali Linux for vulnerability testing, but I'm also interested in the other side learning to secure Ubuntu and Debian servers. My goal is to work in security or do Penetration Testing as a career.

I'm also interested in practical applications for Linux to. Right now my personal computers are a Netbook and old Laptop running Crunch Bang and it's been very reliable. If I have time, I'd also like to look into Server applications for gaming or media streaming(Home Theater).

Also wonder if you guys discuss other alternative OSes like the BSDs? Or do you prefer to keep the forum topics just on Linux derivatives?

For now, we stay away form topics like that, but I have been trying to promote broadening our scope.

Welcome and enjoy the site!

Do you guys discuss Networking and Routers? In particular, the Linux based Tomato firmware?

I've had inconsistent results trying to setup a wireless bridge.

You are free to ask about that in the Networking section of the forum. :)
