Awesome Wallpapers made with GIMP

I used GIMP to combine two images into one.

How did you achieve the water ripple effect? Looks very nice.

Thanks for the compliment.

I use Gimp. For the reflectiveness, "Filters -> Render -> Clouds -> Fog" on the top layer. Then, "Filters -> Distorts -> Ripple"; apply this effect to the top layer.

Thanks for the compliment. I was hoping many people would post a wallpaper on this thread. I wanted to make a very popular and useful thread. Well, I will post another wallpaper of mine.

perfact! I would like to do these things together with you at one day.

For some, I use "Filters -> Render -> Pattern -> Qbist"

For the planets, I like to use "Filters -> Render -> Sphere designer"

Of course, for each one, I use various tools to make other changes like add textures, change shapes, etc.

Infinite maze. It took a couple of minutes to render, a few complex filters were applied heheh.

You have far too much time on your hands.:D
I dare you to use it as a screen backdrop.

I still haven't done much with Gimp...it is a learning process, but those look interesting...

I cannot do the kind of abstract act Devyn does, but I am getting better at realistic stuff. I just took this image I downloaded from Deviant Art (forget the artist's name)

and turned it into this screen backdrop.

All I need to do now is find an image of a tree that fits the picture.

Sweet! You are doing very well. Your imagination alone makes this picture awesome!

Does anyone have a nice-looking tree they could donate and help make my work of art a masterpiece?:)
