My friends call me Bere (Pronounced Beer) and I have played with Linux off and on over my time as an IT professional. I have worked mostly with hardware and windows. I have recently installed Debian on an old laptop I had and am now working on putting in a small ticketing system on an old server so my boss and I can keep track of tickets. I figured this would be a great time for me to get in my techie hip boots and go all in to learning Linux. I love my laptop though I and am still working on playing games on it, but not really done much with the server so I figured Debian would be a good choice to stick with.
I have almost no Linux command line exp. My boss even less. I was hoping to get Gnome or KDE working with it but I can't seem to get it going. I will be posting that question in another post. I thank you for your time and hope to work more with you all to some point of being able to answer newbie questions with the best of them.
Live long and prosper.
