Welcome! Not quite sure what a "mutant" is but I do believe I am far away from one.

Aloha and welcome to Linux.org! You can find the latest cool articles on the main page. Enjoy!

Mark is right. We mutated away from the Blue Empire (Microsuck) and adapted to this new environment of freedom.

Hello there... :) I'm new myself.... I'm installing Linux Mint 15 to a PNY Mini Attache, or somethin' like that and stuff..... It's USB 2.0, but the other USB, which loaded up Ubuntu 13.04 Live slower, loaded up Mint 15 Live quicker!... :) Is it much faster than Mint 13, which I previously had on the USB...? I have no money for Hard Drives, so I was thrilled to find out I could install to USB, and not just demo it off of it.... :D

I actually moved from a USB 2.0 PNY to a SD Card, 32 GB, Class 10, which is insanely fast and stable (Compared to my HDD that crashed).... I got to more of those small PNYs, each about 8 GBs.... :) I also got another SD Card of the same specs as the one I'm using now, with mint..... One of the PNYs is for a bunch of Live CD's, and the other may just be for Pear OS, which doesn't seem to like YUMI (on my friend's Windows 8 [Yes, I'm not scarred]), and instead works with UNETBOOTIN... :\ But now I can take a crapload of OS's with me to a Library or Internet Cafe, and bypass session restrictions, because I'm not even using their HDD/SDD!!.... :D And, there is the factor of any data being wiped..... Linux is Damn awesome.... :p

Got Linux Mint on one, and Ubuntu 13.04 on the other SD Card..... :) I can't believe I can switch between two OS's in under 40 seconds.... And to think I only ever used a Hard Drive.... For anybody looking for a cheap alternative, High Speed SD Cards are your best friend for installing multiple Distros.... :D But, they are tied in to your BIOS, so when you want to change computers, you may have to do a reinstall for that BIOS.... Just be sure your data is backed up in some way ( I only ever back up Music, Emulators, Docs, Pics, and Download files, because I can re-download Firewalls, Gimp, Wine, Libre Office Suite, etc. later....) and have a Boot-able USB of your current OS(s).... That being said, it's time to download the Mint 15 ISO..... :D

Hey man - thanks for joining up!
No problem........ :) I don't have lots of money, but.... Someday... I hope to make a Soul smile with a cool free software I designed myself.... And the BEAUTY of free software.....? :) Once I make something, it can be copied all by itself!..... :D No making millions of software individually, for each one who uses it..... Ahh, I love Copy and Paste.....

Thank you all. Staff members, especially @Rob. User's/Member's feel free to message me simple or advanced questions regarding any kind of help you need. I do IT work for Hospitals; and Hospitals do not stop, meaning neither can I, to continue saving lives. I can see your questions at a moderate pace over my Droid until I get home to my setup.

Thank you all for the warm greeting, my e-mail is directly connected to the forums.

Saw a few comments about the setup so I figure I would post the visual, @_@

Nice system. video games and graphic design would be very fun on a system like that.

Thanks for the offer. You could look at the bottom of the main page (Linux.org) and see the recent comments and questions and then participate in those.

What distro is your hospital using (if you are allowed to say)?
