During the installation I was connected to the internet, but after the installation of 10.04 I have no connection. I have searched the internet but can't seem to find the answer. I have checked the ethernet cable and it's good. What's next?

I don't believe 10.04 is actually supported anymore. I think support ended in may.

But anyways after you installed it and restarted it all. I presume you tried to connect to reconnect. when you opened up the thing did it say no connections found?

Or is it showing a little x over the little screen at the bottom.

either one of these occurred. I think I know exactly what the problem is because it once happen to me upon an upgrade.

Ubuntu 10.04 had weird network connection issues when using wireless network devices. Are you using wireless or wired network connections?

No I am not using a wireless connection, on the router wireless is disabled.

Can you please use a more up to date version? At least 12.04.3 ????

Silly questions I have. What is the state of your network interface or network service? Is you network service configured to automatically start? Are you using DHCP or static IP? Why do you think you don't have connectivity?
