Hello, I'm Blake, but most people simply refer to me as ObsidianSkin(n). I'm new to Linux, and I have a very brief understanding of it. I plan to learn more, but for now, I need an opinion from some experienced users. About the same time when the new consoles come out, I'll be making my first Gaming PC as an alternative. It's going to be my first build, which has me psyched up like hell, but I still have some question before I can begin. Luckily, most have been answered by friends, YouTube tutorials, and forums like these. While watching Newegg TV: How To Build a Computer series, the host mentioned a OS called Linux, but since it was a gaming build, chose Windows. Which OS would be better for me? (I thought I should add more details about what I will be doing on the computer.) I'll mostly game and stream on the computer, but I will also use the computer as the average computer user (Surfing the web, watching YouTube, research, etc.). Thanks, Obby

Hi Blake how are you doing..welcome to the forum..i just hope that you have a great time out here at this community.

1) If you are an ultra-serious-gamer then Windows is (probably) the platform to use

2) BUT there are an increasing number of games appearing on Linux. Linux now has Steam. OK, the games might not be cutting-edge and heavyweight.

3) There is nothing to stop you having both! I'm gaming so I'm using Windows. I'm doing something else so I'm using Linux.

4) Look at this website http://linuxgamingnews.org/ . Look at the links on the left under "Gnu/Linux Gaming Sites"

I agree, dual boot is the way to go till Linux catches up in the Gaming arena.
