What is your favorite Linux 'Server' Distro?

We're going to start doing regular polls here on Linux.org. This week we're asking what everyone's favorite Linux distribution is if you're using it in a server capacity.

I prefer Arch for my servers. Weird I know. I find it is easier to improve security and reliability with Arch compared to my second and third favourites, Debian and Ubuntu Server.

I can't believe so few votes so far for Slackware. The first server I built was on slack. Now I run Debian on everything.

I have to agree with you there. Arch is best for mine. It's super fast and gets the job done.

There are so few votes because they require a login in order to vote.... how annoying.

Been using slack since the 90s. Tried different distros along the way. They are nice and all have pros and cons but once you know UNIX/Linux very well all the bells and whistles don't really buy you that much except added complexity.

Slackware is a great no nonsense distro that I like for server use. It requires very little maintenance, which is always nice. The Windows server, on the other hand...
FreeBSD, while not Linux, also makes a killer server.

Well I run CentOs on everything. But didn't expect Debian sharing the top with CentOs.

Requiring a login is not a bad thing, it prevents poll stacking.

I'm kinda surprised to see Ubuntu above RHEL, but not so surprised to see Debian up there. Debian is solid. For most of the services *nix is known for it's a great option, the problem is most "app" servers require vendor support, and Debian is never on the list.

I use CentOS for all my server stuff. I have used Debian too and it is also very awesome. I would use Arch, but the bleeding edge part freaks me out. Bleeding edge does not always play nice with uptime. Although the security for Arch must be the best just because of the bleeding edge. Ohhh the woes of sys administration.

Anyone use FreeBSD for their server? I know it is not Linux but...
