- A look at Ubuntu and Kubuntu 7.10, Oct 31, 2007

UbuntuI have been using Ubuntu 7.04 "Feisty Fawn" on my MacBook for quite some time, primarily because it was the first distribution I found that would successfully suspend and resume. As such, it was the first distribution that let me actually make use of my laptop - as a laptop. What a concept! Would this fine form continue with Gutsy? I was keen to find out!

Red HatWhile Fedora doesn't seem to have made great advances in the ease of configuring those finer things in life (like non-GPL drivers and non-free codecs), it's not overly complicated if you're willing to get your hands a little dirty.
