Apt-get remove SUSE; apt-get install Etch, May 30, 2007

In my followup article on using Etch as a desktop OS, I pondered converting my primary desktop from SUSE to Debian. I've done it.

Here is a six-step process through which I speedily arrived at a highly usable, fully capable desktop Linux system. A comparison to my previous seven-distro Thinkpad exploit appears at the end.

I thought it would be interesting to find out which modern Linux distro made the best OS for a supposedly "obsolete" old laptop.
