Red Hat Acquires Tapia' s Stake in JV, Dec 07, 2005

Red Hat, provider of enterprise open source solutions, announced that it has fully acquired its joint venture in India. The JV was established in 2000 by Javed Tapia. The company said it plans to contribute more resources to further realize the potential of the open source market in India.

Silicon Graphics India (SGI) has announced the availability of the world's first Linux OS based visual computer product line, the Silicon Graphics Prism family of visualization systems.

The growing interest in Linux was palpable among the 650-odd people who attended the Novell Linux Day event held in Mumbai today.

Juergen Geck, chief technology officer, Suse Linux, said, "This seminar will help us make an entry into the Indian market and interact with the ISVs and component manufacturers. We now have compelling offerings for people to grab the latest technology for their desktops and servers."
