The information ministry [of Pakistan] has trained more than 500 professionals in four major open-source applications under a programme launched to reduce software piracy in the country.

Microsoft’s Windows is still the dominant software operating system for computer users in India but Linux is fast emerging as a threat to the US giant, an industry expert said Tuesday.
