He is rewarding them for something they are being forced to do that they should have been doing from day one.

Little Billy Billy won't do anything he isn't forced to do, never mind go home.

He did, after all, get his start stealing Basic from the Unix world and DOS from it's creators.

Gates did not _steal_ DOS. He bought it fair and square.

On the rest, yes indeed. Microsoft's fortunes are founded upon software piracy.

But so what? They still make lousy code.
