The buzzword for the day ... by: pinniped 
is "interoperability". Microsoft keeps parroting it as if it were something new and exciting. UNIX people don't talk about it because everyone believes it is essential and assumes that everyone else knows what they're doing. What would you think if an auto manufacturer told you "we're going to put an engine in this car"? Ooo ... an "engine" - what's that? I just see this as more fluff from M$ and yet another push to attempt to give credence to this software patent bullshit. It looks like M$ is succeeding at the extortion game where SCO failed.

By excluding commercial use, and disregarding the GPL, MicroSoft has offered us half a chicken, which is pretty useless since we were hoping for eggs.
