Time to switch to Linux from M$-Windows.

Linux is an extremely mature OS, and as all reading this know, you can use a Linux liveCD to ease your way into this (IMHO, best to try this liveCD suggestion for those persons middle-aged or younger who are still using M$-Windows).
As another suggestion, PCLinuxOS is a very powerful liveCD distro for doing this!

What'll happen is that M$ will
1) 1st ignore the "Save XP petition" and try pushing Windows Vista to the very edges of computer civilization up to June 30th. This would give M$ another several months to try burying Linux through patent/legal threats, patent deals, and whatever else it can muster up.
2) actually extend or eliminate altogether its June 30th XP deadline.
Two would be especially plausible if it hits M$ home that their Windows Vista has already sunk, if M$ realizes a noticeably increased uptake of Linux and Mac OS X which it just cannot quell, and if M$ would actually listen to the "Save XP" petitioners .

I think it's really nice to stop worrying about the latest virus or malware or spyware or forced hardware upgrade. Linux has worked well for me for the past six years, with little hassle in getting what i want to do done. There is adequate documentation for Linux available if you have an internet connection (and are capable of ignoring all the M$ shills). For an older computer that has all the power and reliability you need, why get bound into a cycle of endless upgrades and incompatible software? The more people who learn the truth, the more expensive and pointless Microsoft will become.
