| | Ah, SCO ... |

That's one dead donkey that just won't stay down! Anyone else remember that scene from Monty Python's Search for the Holy Grail?
Bring out your dead!
But I'm not dead yet.
How about the scene with the Black Knight?
Have at you! Have at you!
But you have no arms!
Yes I do. (Looks at the ground.) There!
What are you going to do, bleed on me?
I'll bite your kneecaps!

With the SNCP (Stephen Norris & Co. Capital Partners) purchase of SCO:
- Darl McBride is finally out
- Many of SCO employees have now left or are being otherwise phased out
- No More SCO Software product development, sales and support
- SNCP's stated sole purpose in the purchase is to "defend SCO's legal assets", on other words, to basically make counterclaims against and to attack IBM and Novell (and indirectly Linux)
- As PJ's Groklaw and linux.org's SCO Timeline have revealed, it has ALREADY been ruled that Novell is the owner of the copyrights to UNIX and UnixWare (see http://www.groklaw.com/ and http://www.linux.org/news/sco/timeline.html respectively
Specifically on this last point
------- begin quote -----------
August 10
Judge Dale Kimball rules that Novell is the owner of the copyrights to UNIX and UnixWare. The ruling also states that Novell has the power to "direct SCO to waive its claims against IBM". Legal pundits point out that this decision effectively ends SCO's ability to pursue its various lawsuits with hopes of success.
------- end quote -----------
We certainly won't be wishing SNCP any good luck in their efforts! |

| Well, you've got to give Darl some credit - as big an imbecile as he is, he's managed to find even bigger dodos. |
