On Linux Desktop Innovations by: toxico
The article misses a huge point, most of the innovations of desktops an office suits were gradual. By error or intent the author seems to believe that MS Word invented its interface. Well, there was Word Perfect, you know, and MS Word was mimicking it and running behind it for quite a while.

Also, since I learned to eat solid food long ago, I was using X Windows on Sun Sparcs in 1988-1990 (the front for the old SunOS followed later followed by Solaris). X Windows is still (though maked up) core of any Unix or Linux desktop. At the time MS Windows 3 (the first commercially successful MS Windows) was crawling its first steps.

So stop playing MS tunes, and believing they invented warm water.
