Oi! by: Stoobie
Carla Schroder has been one of my favorite Tech writers ever since I switched completely over to Linux in 2004, and I have learned quite a lot from her. Back in those days, I was also an avid reader of Tux Magazine, and yes, they DID have the occasional serious female tech writer. They also featured articles from some openly gay writers along with their infamous "Mango Parfait". I frankly don't care about a tech writer's methods or personal lifestyle one way or the other as long as I learn something about Linux from the time I invest in reading their articles. Speaking as a refugee from the "Gender War" after having published a number or articles on discriminatory sexism myself many years ago, I can only hope that Carla soon comes to her senses and realizes that her sexism rants are better suited for the likes of "i-Village" than a Linux forum. I'm not saying that she's right or wrong for feeling the way she does, just than I know from personal experience that when you start with Gender Politics, you engage everyone in an eternal war without a victor that only succeeds in destroying the environment in which it is fought.
Come on, Carla,...You're better than that.
