completely eliminating Windows in schools at this time is bad for education. Like it or not Windows is still going to be around for quite awhile and putting a stop to teaching it is a disservice to students who may end up working for companies that use Windows. This decision is especially bad for those who intend to enter the IT field. Cutting the teaching of Windows rather than phasing it out as industry and consumers increase their use of FOSS is just a bad idea all around.

First of all, in India a lot of tech companies seem to be switching to Linux. Second of all, maybe the school doesn't have a whole lot of money - if keeping Windows means not having enough PCs for everyone, then I'd say switch to Linux.
