The focus of the article seems to place the burden of supporting apps on Linux and its developers. I'm thinking back to the time when I owned my Amiga 500. If I wanted an application, I bought the Amiga distribution of the program. The burden is on the software publisher, not the os.
It is a circular statement to say that Linux will support any application written for it.
To make linux a smash hit, the software publishers need to start porting their products to linux, then bye bye M$. |
