First off, I'd like to thank all the people who wrote such kind words of support, both here and on Slashdot. Taking a tough moral stand is made a lot easier when you've got so many people giving you a little push from behind. The good news is, the right thing happened in the end. Sys-con Media listened to what I and my fellow editors, their advertisers and the readership was saying, and made the correct decision. Maureen O'Gara's bylined material will no longer appear anywhere in the Sys-con universe of sites or publications. We have received this commitment in writing from Fuat Kircaali, the publisher. Checking around the web sites this morning, I can see that her material is already almost entirely gone, I assume the remainder will dribble out over the next few days. Vile Spew by: Bob Robertson  The "outing" was a vile personal hit piece, filled to overflowing with vitrol and spin of every fascet discovered by the private detectives into something negative. Too old? Too young? Living in a nice place? Living in a place that someone might think it's quite so nice? Faith? No faith? Anything and everything twisted. Anyone who would attack someones MOTHER deserves to be keel hauled. Maureen O'Gara has made herself anathema. I hope that in the defamation suit, the money trail leads right back to the slime who funded this hit piece. And we know who brought up the fact it was going to happen during the last stock holders conference call, right Darl? Light at the end of the tunnel... by: Jamyskis B  I feel sorry for PJ...it's not fun when a personal project turns you into a target for corporate bullies and anti-GPL zealots like Ms. O'Gara. I really hope that she carries the legal action forward - this act really has shown how spiteful Ms. O'Gara really is. However, there is one glimpse of light at the end of this rather dark and dirty tunnel - if there is any truth to what Ms. O'Gara claims, it makes SCO look extremely silly. McBride, if anyone remembers, was claiming, based on his "investigations" that PJ was "not who she seemed", implying that she worked for Big Blue, Novell or some other "anti-SCO front".
