Why would anyone want to have to buy Windows to use Linux - something they can do for much lower cost now? Even if this scenario seems unlikely, and OSS developers jump off the bandagon because it benefits Microsoft, then it's likely that a new O/S would take its place.
OSS is a grass-roots movement, and Linux the O/S isn't the only threat to Microsoft. Commodification of office productivity also theatens MS - on their own platform.
Linux and OSS are not going away, as much as MS may want it to. |
