Re: This is news? by: TheGoreFather
The installer doesn't need an update. It's easy as can be, and I've yet too read a manual for using it, but I've written 3 Slackware installation tutorials. It's easy and runs on older hardware, leave the installer alone.

I've only been using Linux a year and a half so I wasn't around for everything you were talking about, but Pat seems like a cool guy. He's answered E-Mails from me when I had never bought anything, and I just recently bought the Slackware 4 CD - ROM set, Slackware TShirt, Slackware Essentials book, The Complete Linuxc Reference, and a Slackware pin.

My order came a day later (I paid extra for overnight air mail, I have the patience of a rattle snake sometimes) and I was happy with it.

Now, you did bring up some good points:

The page could get updated more, as it is only like twice too three times a year. And one things I'm very happy about:

Slackware Current has VSFTPd and ProFTPd. I hate ProFTPd so I'm glad you'll have a choice with current.

I was as well very happy when Irssi finally got put into Slackware. In my first E-Mail too Pat, that was what I said and he had it in. So that was a nice treat because I didn't have too install from source anymore. pkgtool is a great pplication also.
