| New Maemo UI framework arrives in Fremantle SDK alpha |

Nokia has announced the availability of the first Maemo 5 SDK alpha release. Maemo is the open Linux-based mobile platform that Nokia created to serve as the foundation for its Internet Tablet operating system. It introduces the platform's new user interface framework and other components that are of interest to application developers while also providing a first glimpse at some of the platform's new capabilities.
