O'Reilly study finds multiple reasons for the popularity of open source

A new O'Reilly Radar report dubbed "Open Source in the Enterprise" points out the exponential growth that has been shown in the popularity of open source over the past few years. Many companies are starting to use open source software such as OpenOffice as a replacement for costly alternatives like Microsoft's Office 2007, and Linux is starting to shift to the general market more and more, becoming less and less of a "geek thing".
