| Novell preliminary 4Q results show profit |

Novell Inc., which makes the Linux operating system, said late Tuesday it likely swung to a profit in the latest quarter after cutting costs.
Revenue dropped 15 percent, however, sending the Waltham, Mass.-based company's shares down more than 5 percent to $6 in aftermarket trading Tuesday. The stock had closed up 3 cents at $6.33 on the Nasdaq Stock Market.
