Puppy Linux 2.10 says 'woof', Sep 15, 2006

Distro founder and chief maintainer Barry Kauler on Sept. 13 announced availability of the Puppy Linux 2.10 live CD. The latest version of the Australia-based distro features a 2.6.16.7 Linux kernel, the JWM desktop windowing environment, and a "massive" package upgrade.

When we say Linux is ready, we mean that from our side we are ready to present it in the market with all features and functions. Above this is SUSE Linux 10 Desktop which clearly shows that Linux is ready for desktop users.

It's considered a good thing that a free software project never really has to die - if the person who started it gives up, another can always take the code and run with it.

Linspire launched a revamped partner program on September 14 that will pay system builders a percentage on all commercial Linux software and services purchased by users of either Linspire or Freespire pre-installed desktop and laptop computers using the company's CNR (Click N' Run) technology.

MandrivaLinux (formerly MandrakeLinux) will shortly introduce a new round of releases for its Corporate Server, Corporate Desktop, and PowerPack Edition GNU/Linux distributions. While preparing to review these operating systems I sent some interview questions to Mandriva's CEO, Francois Bancilhon. Responses are below.
