IBM has announced that its portfolio of middleware and systems platforms will support Novell's new SUSE Linux Enterprise 10 offerings. The new SUSE Linux Enterprise offerings incorporate the open source Xen virtualization software to help businesses increase server utilization and lower management costs.

A French start-up created to build autonomous, easily programmable, affordable humanoid robots has emerged from stealth mode. Aldebaran Robotics, of Paris, expects to ship its first product -- a humanoid household service robot running Linux -- in early 2007.

I have friends who believe SimplyMEPIS is the best Linux operating system for Windows refugees. Others swear by Xandros, especially their new Home Edition. You can get these or other Linux operating systems at many of the sites we've been talking about for schools, or check out LinuxWorld for other ideas.
