Fluendo, a specialist in multimedia applications for Linux, has released a beta version of its Linux Media Center Elisa. Version 0.0.1 of the software uses Python and the GStreamer framework - multimedia architecture for Linux that has the look and feel of Microsoft's DirectShow and handles the Gnome desktop's multimedia capabilities. OpenGL 1.3 handles the monitor output for Elisa, providing for fluid animation in menus.
