Microsoft Eyes Linux, Promises More Frequent Products

Chief executive Steve Ballmer yesterday outlined how Microsoft Corp plans to lure customers away from Linux and pledged to provide IT execs with more frequent products and upgrades from the company in the future.

Speaking at a broad-reaching keynote Q&A session at a Gartner Symposium in Florida, Ballmer also attempted to deflate growing competitive pressure from search company Google Inc.
