'Give and Take' Alive and Well at Novell

Novell Software has followed the "give and take" philosophy of the open source sector by offering some of its own technology back to the open source community, from Mono to Beagle.

Following its embrace of Linux in early 2000, Novell acquired Ximian, a Linux desktop management solution, to promote Linux desktops and enable Microsoft .NET applications to run on Linux.
