Business intelligence vendors eye up Linux, Feb 18, 2005

Privately-held Information Builders now claims to run on more Linux platforms than any other business intelligence vendor. Its says WebFOCUS runs on over 15 operating systems - including multiple versions of SuSE and Red Hat Inc's Enterprise Linux flavor.

Analysts say Linux could be a boon to handsets in various ways. First, it could lower barriers for new vendors to enter the market, which could help drive down costs, especially important for uptake in emerging markets.
