Newham Council denies playing dirty with Linux

The head of ICT at Newham has denied using a Linux trial purely to force a better contract from Microsoft, but says 'you'd be insane' to think that competition didn't help him get a better deal

Officials at the London Borough of Newham denied on Monday that they had faked an interest in deploying Linux to force Microsoft to dramatically cut its licensing costs.
